In Balfour, the distressing discovery of a missing 49-year-old man has sent shockwaves through the community. Five days after he was reported missing, his partially burnt body was found discarded in the backyard of a resident's house in Siyathemba, Balfour, Nelspruit, this Thursday.

Wrapped in a blanket, the victim was identified by his family members who had reported his disappearance on Sunday around 9 pm. The circumstances surrounding his death are deeply unsettling.

According to Police spokesperson Brig Selvy Mohlala, officers on patrol were alerted by a resident who stumbled upon the gruesome scene in his backyard at approximately 8:30 am on Thursday. Mohlala stated, “He informed police about the unknown body in his yard. Police responded and found the body. Medical practitioners also attended the scene, and the person was certified dead.”

The motive behind this shocking incident remains unknown, leaving investigators working diligently to piece together the puzzle.
