Ga-Mashashane, Limpopo – Lesiba Papo, a creative mind from Ga-Mashashane, has designed an exciting new board game that’s set to bring laughter, strategy, and friendly competition to households across South Africa and beyond. Titled Dicato72, this easy-to-learn but thrilling game combines dice, cards, tokens, and the classic showdown of Rock-Paper-Scissors into a fast-paced battle for victory.

How It Works
Dicato72 is a
two-player game where opponents roll a dice, draw cards, and face off in
Rock-Paper-Scissors duels to advance their tokens across 72 blocks. The first
player to reach the end wins, making every match a mix of luck, quick thinking,
and playful mind games.

"Dicato72 is an acronym
for Dice, Cards, and Tokens—the three key elements of the game. Players
roll dice, play cards, and move tokens across a 72-block grid, in that order. I
wanted to create something simple but exciting—a game that anyone, from kids to
adults, can enjoy in minutes," says Papo. "Dicato72
is perfect for game nights, schools, or even just casual fun with friends and
family."
From Limpopo to the World
Papo, who grew up in
Ga-Mashashane, drew inspiration from traditional games and modern strategy favorites.
His goal was to craft an engaging experience that doesn’t require long setups
or complicated rules—just pure, competitive fun. The project took three years
to complete.
Now, he’s ready to share Dicato72 with
the world, hoping to see it on shelves and in homes everywhere. "This
is just the beginning," he adds with a smile. "I
believe games bring people together, and create beautiful memories too."
